PAUL WAS EXPERIENCING THREE DIFFICULTIES/FRUSTRATIONS:
- EMOTIONALLY DRAINED AND WEARY 2 CORINTHIANS 2:1, 4.
- HURT BY THE WORDS/ACTIONS OF SOMEONE. (5-11).
- 2 CORINTHIANS 2:12-13 FEELINGS OF LONELINESS AND ISOLATION.
In light of those three things 2 CORINTHIANS 2:14-17
“The main art in the matter of spiritual living is to know how to handle yourself. You have to take yourself in hand, you have to address yourself, you have to preach to yourself. You must say to your soul: ‘Soul, why are you cast down - what business have you to be disturbed?’ You must turn on yourself, exhort yourself, and say to yourself: ‘Hope in God!’ – instead of muttering to yourself in a depressed, unhappy way. And then you must go on to remind yourself of God, Who God is, what God is, what God has done, and what God has pledged Himself to do!” - Martyn Lloyd-Jones
