Mountaintops: A Place of Surrender - Mark Wible

1. We are 1st Introduced to the Mount of Olives in 2 Sam 15:13-30 - David fleeing Absolom

2. It was Jesus’ custom to pray there; Luke 22:39

• We need a customary place of communion w/ Father for refreshment, direction, instruction, and support in order to do the ministry we are called to do.

3. It was the point of origin for Jesus’ Triumphal Entry; Matt 21:1; Mark 11:1; Luke 19:37

• It is important for us to enter significant periods of our lives having a customary place of communion with the Lord as our foundation.

4. It was site from which Jesus detailed the signs of the Close of the age; Matt 24:3; Mark 13:3

• The serious nature of the end times calls for greater understanding of what is expected & required of us.

5. It is the site of Jesus’ ascension (Acts 1:9-12) and second coming (Zechariah 14:4)

• was site of Jesus’ deepest sorrow, his greatest earthly glory & our future hope

6. Jesus’ last night before his crucifixion was spent on the Mount of Olives in the Garden of Gethsemane; Matt 26:30; Mark 14: 26; Luke 22:39

What do you need to surrender? Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done.
