COLOSSIANS 1:19-23
In the NT there are FIVE TERMS OF OUR SALVATION
Justification –the guilty sinner stands before God, and the sinner is declared righteous.
Redemption- the shackled sinner stands before God as a slave and is granted freedom by payment of a ransom.
Forgiveness - the impoverished sinner stands before God as a debtor, and the debt, having been paid, is forgotten.
Reconciliation, the separated sinner stands before God as an enemy and becomes a friend.
Adoption – the sinner stands before God as an outside stranger and is made a son or daughter.
BEFORE AND AFTER
FOUR ASPECTS OF RECONCILIATION:
1) The big plan of reconciliation. The big plan is to bring humanity and the universe back to God
2) The only method of reconciliation, The only method is the perfect blood and body of Christ.
3) The lasting purpose of reconciliation. The lasting purpose is my blamelessness before God.
4) The personal evidence of reconciliation. The personal evidence is my continuation in Christ. The most important day of life is the last day.
