We have various programs that are part of our Wellness Center that help with education, health, financial independence, and language. Below you will find more information on the various programs including registration links, times and days and any cost if applicable.
Highland Urgent Care
Highland Urgent Care is a healthcare service provider that specializes in offering immediate medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions. The facility is equipped to address a range of urgent medical needs, including minor injuries, illnesses, and routine medical services. This includes treatment for coughs, colds, flu, infections, earaches, rashes, lacerations, minor traumas, and injuries. Our team of qualified healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and physician assistants, work to deliver prompt and reliable medical services.
No insurance or ID necessary.
No appointments required.
$10 contribution encouraged.
First-come, first-served to daily capacity.

Financial Literacy
If you've ever felt like you just can't get in control of your money, you're not alone. You'd be surprised how many people you know are struggling just like you. But it's time for your struggle to end—starting today. Join our Financial Peace University class starting on in October and learn how you can pay off debt, save more money, and build wealth.
The class cost is of $30 per person and will consist of 9 weeks of meeting every Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm at the Highland Wellness Center.

Neighborhood Housing Initiative
The city of Waco has partnered with Highland Wellness Center to provide guidance to their Home Rehabilitation, Homebuyer down payment assistance, and Section 8 Housing programs. Each program has unique set of guidelines, but Highland volunteers guide potential applicants through the process here in our computer lab. Here is city website with more information of programs.

Together for Good
Highland Baptist is excited to partner with Together for Good to provide parent advocate volunteers and host homes for families in need. At Together for Good, they provide crisis hosting’s, respite care, relational support, and wrap-around care so that no family walks alone. You can get more information at their website Tfgood.org.
ESL- English as a Second Language

Citizenship Classes
Highland offers citizenship classes for anyone that is looking at preparing, training, and getting documentation ready in order to apply for US citizenship. If this interest you please attend a session to better determine what steps and assistance is needed for each individual or family.

Parent Tutor Engagement
Parent Tutor Engagement is a bilingual program that allows parents learning English to practice their reading and pronunciation by reading children books to their preschool kids and younger. This allows for both the practice of reading and also for children to experience early childhood literacy.
