Christmas Past: The One Who Will Bruise the Serpent

GENESIS 3:1-24 Let’s consider 4 things from this passage:

1. WE REBELLED

Rev 12:9 A great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world.
God’s absolute authority is brought into question, and man’s authority is lifted up above God’s
Sin at its core is distrusting the character of God.
The lie of the serpent was far more appealing than the word of God.
Eve listens to the serpent, Adam listens to Eve, and nobody listens to God.

2. AND BROUGHT GOD’S JUDGMENT

Beauty and perfection are replaced with brokenness and isolation.

Death is judgment of our sin!

3. 
   BUT GOD IN HIS MERCY

God seeks after the guilty.
God exposes sin in order that He might forgive sin

God covers the shameful.

4. PROMISED A SAVIOR WOULD COME.
   1 John 3:8,The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

WE REBELLED AND BROUGHT GOD’S JUDGMENT. BUT GOD IN HIS MERCY PROMISED A SAVIOR WOULD COME
