The goal of Highland Student Ministry is to bring High School and Middle School students together for worship and fellowship, develop as disciples, and take the gospel to the world. We challenge students to own their faith, follow Christ more personally, and embrace the Word of God. Highland as a whole sums these values up in three words: Gather, Grow, Go.
This summer we will be changing things up. God has some amazing things in store for us in the days ahead. We have many events and small group gatherings planned this summer. If you have any questions about particular events or would like to be added to the parent email for the latest news and updates, contact Jordan-McKinney@highlandbc.org
This summer we will be attending Sondays Camp and we will be meeting on Wednesdays. Here is what you need to know:
- For Summer 2020 we are meeting in Host Homes from 6:30-8pm
- Students will be in 3 groups: 7-8th Grade, 9-10th Grade, 11th-Grad Groups.
- We will be watching/discussing Matt Chandler's study on the 23rd Psalm from RightNow Media
- These groups are hosted by parents, and led by HSM Staff Members. The locations of these groups will be released Monday, June 1st.
We have made the decision to attend camp this summer. This does not mean we expect every student or family to be involved. It is up to each family to decide what is right for them in this current season. Here is what you need to know!
Date: Camp is July 15-July 18!
Sign-Ups will begin next week, and the Link will be emailed!
Camp will cost $159 this year (as opposed to $250 last year). However there will be a camp discount for $145 next Wednesday at the drive-in Midweek. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please email your student's name, grade, and reason for the scholarship request to Megan-Garland@highlandbc.org. Don't let a silly thing like money be the reason your student doesn't attend camp!
Physical distancing will be practiced for worship, eating, recreation and sleeping arrangements. It will be policed by camp Lebanon staff as well as Highland volunteers. We will most likely be doing recreational activities with our individual churches rather than altogether. The Mt. Lebanon Staff will clean and sanitize the camp under CDC guidelines throughout our time.
Transportation: Parents will be responsible to transport your student(s) to camp AND back home. This allows us to accomplish the full scope of social distancing at camp from beginning to end.
