Kid's Connection/Connect 56

Promotion Sunday is August 20

We believe that families should worship together in the 8:40am or 10am Gathering times which meet in the Life Center. Children will gather for a time of learning each Sunday morning on the Children’s Hall for Kid's Connection/Connect 56 at 10am. We encourage every child to be involved in Kid's Connection/Connect 56.

Kid's Connection

K – 4th Grade
Sundays at 8:40a and 10a Children’s Hall located on the 3rd floor of the Education Building.

Highland Kid's Connection uses “The Gospel Story for Kids” along with "The Gospel Project" curriculums. Children are taught how the gospel of Jesus Christ weaves through every story in the Bible. These curriculums are a unique, three-year program that helps churches and families ground children in the gospel story from Genesis to Revelation. Every class, starting with Kindergarten up to 4th grade, will be studying the same story each week at their appropriate age level.  At each age level, children are taught the gospel through age-appropriate illustrations, activities, coloring pages, object lessons, and memorization. There are weekly family friendly devotionals that go along with the curriculum available for you to use at home.

Connect 56

5th and 6th Grades
Sundays at 8:40a and 10a Children’s Hall located on the 3rd floor of the Education Building

Connect 56 introduces preteens to inductive study where they are taught how to investigate the Scriptures and discover for themselves what it means, apply it to their lives and defend their faith to others.  We want preteens to study the Bible for God’s truth, instead of relying on teachers to tell them what is in the Bible.

POLICY AND PROCEDURES

We strive to provide a safe environment, both physically and emotionally, for everyone at HBC Kids. One method is our electronic check-in system, Kidcheck (What is Kidcheck?), used on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Check in stations enable parents to quickly and easily check-in children, and gives our staff a way to contact parents if necessary during the gatherings. K-3rd grade students will need to be checked in and picked up by an approved adult.  A guardian receipt will be printed out at the time of check-in which is required to pick up your child from class.

We also require our leaders to go through a rigorous screening process in order to serve in Highland Kids. If you are interested in being an Highland Kids leader, please email Joanie Swingler to find out more information.
